The premiere date for actor Lee Jun-ki's new drama "Hero" has been pushed back by a week, according to its broadcaster on Friday.

A producer at MBC told 10Asia over the phone that the Wednesday and Thursday series will air starting November 18, instead of November 11.

November 18 was when "Hero" had originally been set to air but the date had been pulled up after drama "No Limit" wrapped up early after suffering from ratings between three to five percent.

But "Hero" only went into shoot properly starting yesterday after replacing actress Kim Min-jung with Yoon So-yi two days ago. Kim pulled out from the drama over an arm condition which kept her from shooting.

"Hero" will star 27-year-old Lee who became a household name in 2005 playing a woman-like clown in the hit film "The King and the Clown" and was recently voted the most popular Korean Wave star in China.

He will play the role of a passionate reporter working for a third-rate magazine in the drama, about a group of youngsters who rebel and fight against a corrupt society.

After lead actress Kim Min-jung dropped out and Yoon So-yi was brought in to replace her, MBC’s upcoming Wednesday-Thursday drama Hero only had a week till its premiere to reshoot with its new lead, making for an impossible undertaking. Thankfully, broadcaster MBC has decided to go ahead and delay the launch of the show by a week: it will now premiere on November 18.

A source with the production said, “We’d tried hard to make the premiere as scheduled for November 11, but inevitably the broadcast has been pushed back a week. With Yoon So-yi coming in to replace Kim Min-jung, filming is currently going in full force.”

A source from MBC said, “Even though the female lead has changed several times, Lee Junki and the other cast members have not been shaken by it and have quietly worked on their own acting, which has given MBC and the producers encouragement. In particular, Lee Junki, who has been preparing for the past year for Hero, has become absorbed in his acting without being thrown into confusion over the female lead changing twice, focusing on the team and bolstering support.”

I’m of two minds about this: (1) Thank goodness! and (2) MBC, if you’re going to postpone it a week anyway, why not do yourself a favor and make it two? Surely the production needs the time more than you do.

'Hero' first broadcast will be on November 18 where Kim Min Jung has resigned due to shoulder injury and later replaced by Yun So Yi.

Photos of pre-debut Lee Jun-gi to air on cable [2009.11.11]

Never-before-seen pictures of Korean actor Lee Jun-ki from his pre-debut days will be shown on MBC's cable channel on Thursday.

MBC every1 said in a press release today that its documentary program "Star: The Secret" will feature dozens of photographs of the Hallyu star from childhood days and before his debut.

The contents to be disclosed include profile shots of the actor taken for auditions and his voice work as a high-school deejay.

A former high school classmate was quoted as saying that "all the girls in school would swoon 'It's Lee Jun-ki, Lee Jun-ki; when he would host morning shows in his attractive, low voice" and that Lee later had to switch to a lunch-time show because it interfered with the students studies.

The program will also feature an anecdote about the actor's recent fan meeting fiasco in Taiwan, where the agency's president took off with funds for the concert and the star ended up paying for the whole event out of his pocket. The actor is quoted as saying, "I wanted to keep my word with the fans no matter what the cost."

He will star in the new TV series "Hero", set to air in Korea starting November 18, as a passionate reporter working for a third-rate magazine.
